It is in the interest of Mountbatten ltd as well as in the interest of the Licensees to produce good quality websites for its customers. Therefore we have put the following quality structures in place:

The EasySites Builder will allow relatively unexperienced people to make high quality websites. Furthermore, the trainer who will train all the licensees is a professional website developer. She will be able to increase the knowledge and capacity of each student and follow/observe their performance, perseverance, thrust worthy, reliability and appearance (communication skills etc) during the training. EasySites will provide a certificate to students after they have completed the first training. We will also provide a platform, manuals, downloads and a mentor (this is the web design trainer) to ensure full professional support to licensees.
EasySites provides short communication links with the person who develops the website and, through this person, with the web hosting customers. Another advantage that will increase the quality of the end product is the fact that licensees can speak the local languages. This makes communication a lot easier, decreases the chances for miscommunication and ensures that customers' needs are understood more easily.

However, personal creativity and skill of the licensee does also have an effect on the quality of the end product.

Mountbatten will therefore maintain an (internal) scoring mechanism for each website and licensee. This scoring will serve the following purpose:

  • Ensure the end-customers are served with a good quality website, which do not have major errors and which accomplish the goal that the customer has set.
  • To ensure happy customers that will recommend the EasySites trademark and its services to others by 'word of mouth'.
  • Create an incentive to design and develop good / better websites.
  • To create a healthy competition amongst licensees, which will motivate them to perform better.

After a licensee has created an EasySites website, the site will have to go through a final check by Mountbatten to judge if it meets the minimum criteria of a “good website”. The licensee will have to review and alter the website if the criteria are not met. Only after receiving an OK from Mountbatten, the site will be given its final URL (be available on the web for viewing for everyone).

  1. There are no grammatical and spelling mistakes and the site uses correct typesetting throughout.
  2. The website uses a consistent and matching colour scheme and design.
  3. All links are working (no http 404 errors).
  4. User friendliness of the website; it is clear what people need to do when they open the homepage (how they need to navigate their way through the pages)
  5. Marketability (the site is likely to achieve its goal: e.g. people will register, buy products, contact the company, ask for quotations etc.)

Mountbatten will also maintain an internal scoring mechanism to keep track of the performance of the EasySites licensees and the websites they have made. The scoring will be done according to the following criteria:

  • Complexity of the website: use of special features in the website (e.g. special graphics, a search module, FAQ, image galary).
  • The design does not longer look like a the original template /theme (it is hard to recognize what template /theme was used).
  • Customer satisfaction. The end-customer will be asked to fill in an evaluation form and send this to Mountbatten.
  • Ranking of all new websites by colleague licensees during the monthly meeting according to overall look and feel.
  • How often the website needed to be reviewed by Mountbatten before it was given an OK (see the five criteria above) and ready to be assigned it final URL.

This scoring will not be made public. However, scoring will be made known to other licensees and may be discussed during the monthly meetings.

Licensees will be benefit from a higher (internal) score through:

  1. Receiving a higher ranking in the lists of recent/featured websites on the EasySites 'Recent Sites' page. Having their name and website featured on the EasySites Homepage / landing page (the first page that people will look at when they visit the website).
  2. Increased chance of being assigned leads (potential customers) that are received at the Mountbatten inquiries /customer care desk.
  3. Being awarded the “ EasySites Licensee of the Year Award” which gives entitlement to a free voucher that can be exchanged to pay for additional training.

Questions and complaints about the scoring that a website /licensee has received may be addressed to the EasySites Operational manager, who will after consultation with the licensee and EasySites trainer (and end-customer if necessary) decide if a score has been reasonable or not.
