The selection procedure for EasySites consists of 2 rounds: an On-line Intake Test which you can do from any computer with internet access (for example your local internetcafe) and a 2nd selection round in the form of a personal assessment / interview and information day.

Online Intake Test
The On-line Test will be available from the this website.

You will have to register by fist providing a user name and password of your choice, plus a valid email address. After providing these details you will be taken through the test, which consists of 12 multiple choice questions about the general use of a computer, and a motivation question. There are also a set of optional questions, which, after answered successfully, may increase your selection changes. Mountbatten will be the final judge in passing candidates for the test. Candidates who pass the test will be notified through the email address that they have provided. Candidates that fail the test, will receive a message to thank them for their time and effort and encourage them to try again.

Admittance to second selection round
From the candidates that pass the test, the best will be invited through email for a 2nd selection round. If you are among the lucky candidates, you will have to confirm/register for your attendance in person at the office and pay a training fee deposit of 50% of the actual course fee. This can be done through a bank transfer with the provided deposit slip or by cash. Candidates will be invited for an 2 hr assessment and information session. After an introduction session about EasySites (what, when, why, who etc), candidates will be given a group exercise/game to test communication skills and an individual creativity test. The day will be hosted by the EasySites Trainer, with the operation manager taking care of the introduction session. Should you not be selected for the training, you will receive full reimbursement of the deposit.

Admittance to training programme
20 candidates will be notified through email and will be invited for the training course.

After submitting your online test results and answers, you will receive an email which will confirm that we have received your application. After a while, you will receive another email in which we will let you know if you have qualified for the 2nd selection round.

After being short-listed for the 2nd second round, you will be asked to pay a 50% deposit or full payment for the training fee. Pretty much of the communication will be through email. Therefore, you need to regularly check your email for any EasySites updates.

The costs for the EasySites training are UGX 400.000//= per person. You will be given a 2-week course that will equip you to use the EasySites Builder to design and build your own websites and train you in managing your own licensee business. You will receive the following course materials: an EasySites manual for each module a writing pad and pen. Upon successfully completing the training, you will be offered the opportunity to operate as an EasySites licensee holder.

There is a UGX 100.000//= license fee involved in order to obtain the EasySites license. In return you will receive the EasySites Support package, which includes all the equipment and materials that you need to start as an EasySites Licensee. For example an USB stick with software, a promotional package with stickers and brochures, an EasySites T-shirt, an ID and personalised business cards. You will also receive personal backstopping, attend monthly support meetings, benefit from marketing support and access to the EasySites platform where you will have your personal profile advertised.

After obtaining the licensee you will be earning your own income by making websites for your clients.
We will ask you to put a small portion of your earnings aside to save for a second and/or third follow-up training. With this training you will able to upgrade your skills as to serve your customers with more advanced web design techniques. The cost of the second and third course are estimated at a maximum of UGX100.000//= per course depending on the number of participants.

Not really. The EasySites license business model allows an individual without prior experience or knowledge of web design to be completely trained and informed about how to operate a new business in web design. After having successfully completed the intake test and 2nd selection round we believe you have the capacity to participate in the training course. The use of the EasySites Builder will allow you to configure and develop a website without using a lot of complicated coding in HTML or CSS. After the final exam, you are ready to start your own business!

Of course any previous skills and knowledge in computer science, IT, business administration or with web design specifically will help you to become a more successful EasySites licensee. Web design is not only about technical knowledge, it also greatly depends on your creative skills which will determine if you are able to design beautiful websites. Therefore any previous skills that require creative input are useful too. Any knowledge or experience with managing a business will also come in handy.

We have tried our best to keep the course fee affordable for our target group, namely young unemployed people who finished their formal education but have not yet had the oportunity to practice their skills and knowledge.

However, we realise that it might not be easy for some applicants to fulfill the training course fee. Unfortunately we do not (yet) have the means to provide a sponsorship programme for applicants. We encourage you to search for your own sponsors. You may request Mountbatten to support you with the required documentation (e.g. an information brochure to inform your potential sponsor about the programme).
